MOVING ON UP!

Today has finally come.. its moving day out of my first and amazing apartment.. I have had so much fun and wonderful times at the 3-6 mafia.. but alas it is time to say goodbye and move on to new experiences across town. My mom is "thrilled" that I am moving a mile away! Moving is always such an amazing experience, I wish we could all do it more often! Rebecca has been nice enough to offer to help the bigger stuff.. any more takers? I seriously need a truck so holla at ya girl

FOCUS ON THE FAMILY AGAIN
We are all so proud of my daddy Pete!!! For the last couple of years he has become a serious beer connoisseur. He just competed in the American Home Brewer's competition in Florida! This contest was very intense with hundreds of entries. Pete finished second beating out some very well respected brewers! To say the least it was a huge upset for some of those returning beer veterans! His next contest is in West Virginia where we hope to take it all!! After that he will be facing his arch nemesis in a battle show down in Nashville. Last year Pete beat this snobby beer lady at the contest. Not know who Pete was the snobby lady came up to him and started trashing my daddy! Well, you know what that means... it is on woman! She will go down! Hopefully we can get some shots of the action! These competitions are very secretive but I think I can work on it...

AND NOW WHAT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR
NATALIE'S LAGUNA: BACK TO THE BEACH REVIEW FOR SEASON II The Laguna party was delayed for our posse b/c of the busy schedule we all carry. Rebecca was nice enough to tape and ended up hosting the event. I know it was supposed to be the last 3-6 party, and in a way it was but 3-10 had beach furniture too so it was a great environment. The event started w/ great company and great snacks. Ally who was very bronzed from her cruise to Mexico, Shannon, Jessica, Nina, Rebecca, Lee, and I were the hot people who attended... we started watching the pre-game at apx 10:30. This was helpful b/c some of the party -goers were not faithful watchers of last season. Finally we got to the premier. When that familiar "let the rain fall down" started playing I just knew we were in for a great hour of quality television and boy was I correct. There was so much drama and so many new faces it was hard to keep everything together. Some of the main plots are still playing out like Steven liking Kristin and LC following Steven around like a puppy dog. But now all the kids are back from college and there is a new and mature vibe.. well kind of! We watched in awe and since it was taped we didn't have to watch the commercials... what could be better? I thought the night was a success and cannot wait for next Monday when we have our next party. We are going to start rotating places so if you want to get in on the action, let me know...

As you know Monday's special segment is Focus on the Family. I have decided to talk more about my brother, Ben, cousin Carly and uncle Ray. The kids left on Friday and their luggage did not follow them. It was first left in Atlanta and then left in another hotel. Ben is not having too much trouble b/c he can wear Ray's clothes, however Carly height apx 5'2 is having trouble coping with the 6'0+ boys she is traveling with. Tomorrow is the Laguna Beach preview party. I strongly encourage you to attend because this is the last of the 3-6 mafia summer series of parties. I am sad and will probably shed a tear...Come at 9:30 w/ beach wear and we will probably go out after...Can't get too crazy though b/c my momma will be coming in to Otown very early on Wed to start the moving process.... to the left will be my attitude...

WEEKEND UPDATE II

Wow this weekend was one not to be missed! The nights were filled with great and exciting company and except for the severe lack of sleep and few too many drinks each night it could not have been more enjoyable!

FRIDAY NIGHT SHOW DOWN:
Friday night started for me w/ a quick shift at the sweatshop. I then picked up a fellow sweatshop worker, Lee and we went to Old Venice with Rebecca, her two great friends from home: Molly and Anna, the famous Grant Gannon, and Travis. Dinner was great and then we went to the Levee. We joined a lot of other friends at the Levee. It is not my favorite bar in the least but we made it fun chilling on the old stage with Shannon,Jessica, Ben Bevil, and John.

After the bar we decided to make a trip to Holly Springs and visit our friend Paul at Grace Land Too. whoa..Please read this section carefully.. if there are small children this might be a good time to remove them from the room. We had no idea what was really in store. We arrive around 1am. Paul comes to the door and we start the tour as normal. He has updated some of his stories and his house is surprisingly clean.. well for Graceland Too. Half way through the tour, John was having some trouble paying attention because of the amazing amount of alcohol he had consumed! He left to go outside and Paul decided to lock him out and not let him back in. John wanted to come back in because he felt that Holly Springs was not the greatest area to be outside hanging out. John begins banging on the door and Paul ignores him b/c he is so focused on the tour. John continues to bang and we suddenly hear a crash...the window has shattered. Paul is not happy.. he begins saying how he has $100,000 in guns and pulls out a small hand gun. WAIT WHAT JUST HAPPENED? Being the little hippie child I am, I freaked out and quickly bolted for the door with all of our friends. Paul tried to get our information and Lee quickly responded with a great alias "John Jones" and gave some altered insurance information. Unfortunately, our tour was cut very short and my opinion that Paul is a harmless crazy man has changed... he is not harmless he certifiable and carries a gun in his pocket.. stay away! PS I would like to give props to Whitney for always having the knowledge of Paul. She has never been a fan and we should have listened to this smart girl. She is from Tupelo the birth place of Elvis. That is something Paul can never say....


Coming home around 3:30 made my day at security check very difficult! 8 o'clock comes very early!

SATURDAY!!!
After working all day Rebecca informs me that we are going to Taylor Grocery in Taylor, MS. The same crew minus Jessica made the trip to Taylor. It was a very muggy night but the company and dining made it completely worth it. Dinner was great. Most of us got the 1/2 filet plate or some variation of that. We were entertained by the great music and the many stories from John. After leaving Taylor we came back to Otown and hung out at Ben's house for a while. Then some people wimped out (you know who you are) and Lee, Travis, and I went out on the square. We went to 208 and just chilled for a while. This was a great place to go b/c Lee could get in and Travis happened to know the bar tender.
After we left the bar we decided to be wedding crashers (I guess I was influenced by the movie.. damn media) and went to a reception on the square. This was probably not the best move and our presence did not last long. I saw a sorority sister Jessica and I thought we were in for free food and drinks. However I did not notice that Travis and Lee were stopped by a drunk friend and were quizzed about their place at the wedding. They were asked who they knew and Lee quickly responded we're w/ the groom! The drunk man asked," well what's his name?" Lee says,"Mark" which is wrong. The drunk friend is not happy and Travis bolts but Lee has to be the mocho man and try to talk to this friend. I decide this is not a good move and we leave the wedding.. Obviously we did not take enough lessons from the movie! After that we took a trip to Toxic Hell (taco bell) and got some late night food..

Once again today was very hard at work... I am finally going to get some sleep but I thought I would leave you with a picture of all of my friends from this weekend... enjoy! Some of Rebecca's friends are coming in from Texas and I along w/ everyone else in our posse is excited to show them a great time in Oxvegas! Our plans are to go to the little kids bars b/c some of our visitors are not 21. That is okay, it will be like a blast from the past sort of weekend.. Complete with a trip to graceland too.



This weekend is also the time for traveling.. it seems everyone is going somewhere:

*Ben, Carly, and Ray will be in Europe for a couple of weeks. They fly out today and arrive in Munich tomorrow :)
*Ally left for Mexico today on her family vacation cruise! With a crazy girl like Ally and an equally eclectic family, who knows what will happen.
*Amy, Pam, and Alan Waycaster are going to Tuscaloosa tonight to go to a party with her family friends. It should be a great time!
*April Lancaster went to Alaska for an opera workshop.
*Ann Marie Hall went to Paris for an English class to study American writers in Paris.
*Travis L and Ben just got back from Tunica last night. But we all know these addicts will probably be back.
*As I stated earlier we are going to Graceland too tonight in Holly Spring, Mississippi.

For those of you who have been reading my blogs you know that I work at a sweatshop where I contact people who are usually less than pleased to hear from me. Since my beginning at Security Check (aka the sweatshop) I have been taking an unscientific polls and the worst states to call are: In the south: Alabama, in the north: Michigan and in the west: California. Below I have composed a list of insults/ threats/ excuses/ etc that hopefully will make you laugh.. just remember this is my job not a joke :)

3."My lawyer said it was illegal for you to call me" mean man "okay, ask you lawyer about writing bad checks? Is that legal?" Nat
2. "I just love your southern accent, do you think I could come down there and maybe take out?" (man from Minnesota who had no business asking me out since he had no money in his checking account... oh yeah and he had never seen me! maybe bill collecting calls will become the hottest new trend in dating)

1. "okay you owe $356.21." Nat " You have no soul young lady this is followed by about 2 minutes of lots of cussing and yelling.. finally I get sick of it. " Mam mam, I have good news, please stop yelling.. you can save 15% on car insurance by calling Geiko today" Nat

In other news:
My good friend and your's, Rebecca Bertrand is not having that great of a day.. Please if you see Rebecca give her a hug and some respect! She's a great hard working gal that needs a little pick me up! Give her some love! Hopefully she will feel better by hooking up tonight! (the show kids... but you never know w/ that sexy R.Bert).

This is a Natalie's News special update:

Hot off the press, this story will blow your mind! Aimee Bertrand has a real life stalker! Please don't be too alarmed, Natalie's news has contacted the alleged stalker and all of the personal contacts have seemed to be harmless...so we hope
The first contact occurred a few weeks ago in a scary and dramatic car chase. Aimee noticed that someone was flagging her car down. She first wondered if something was wrong with her car, looking and observing no obvious problems, she kept driving. The man was relentless... honking and flagging! This alarmed Aimee, she kept thinking," what could he want? Is this some kind of attack because of who I work for? Is this an out of control parent of a child that I used to be a glorified baby-sitter for? What is going on?" Finally, after the man would just not stop, Aimme would make her first mistake, she stopped. The robust and older man stepped up to her car. A million thoughts ran through Aimee's head, she rolled down her window and the man responds with a friendly, "Hotty Toddy!" He had seen Aimee's UM alumni sticker and flagged her down b/c he was also an Ole Miss alum! Aimee learned that the man's name is Larry Holt and that he played football here several decades ago. Second mistake, Aimee gave Holt a business card so they could possibly see each other in the grove. Weeks pass and Aimee resumes her normal life. She doesn't hear from Holt and forgets about the strange meeting. Then during another normal at work, she gets a mysterious phone call. Aimee had told Holt that she was fond of his chrome rebel on his bumper. Holt contacted Aimee at work and had purchased Aimme her own chrome rebel. Imagine the impact and influence Aimee must have made on Holt. They met for approximately 3 minutes and he was already shopping for her. Holt wanted Aimee to come to his house and pick up the chrome rebel. This would be mistake number three. It was on his turf and his rules.. Aimee anxiously drove to Holt's house thinking of the many ways she could escape if the situation arose. "I could use my keys and my stilettos a weapon" (Aimee), however these precautions were not used. Holt had bought Aimee the chrome rebel. It is a great addition to her Honda. What we have learned about Holt is that he is not so much of a scary stalker but a mooch or a "scrub" if you remember the popular destiny's child track. Holt now wants to join the Bertrand camp at the grove! This story is far from over! I am sure some stories will arise after the first football game that Holt attends! I can only imagine Byron and Ginger's response..(note Byron and Ginger are Aimee's parents).



The Real World Austin officially sucks:
Last night I had a date at the apt with furniture with Rebecca and Ally. We watched more reality programming: Real World and that 70's House. The Real World sucks this season, I'm just going to say it... maybe everything isn't always bigger in Texas.. OooOo


I'll get comments over that one! The 70's house is actually surprisingly funny for an extremely low budget and pointless show...

Just another manic Monday

Ahh a new week: a time to set goals and start off on the right foot...ahh lets face it.. a time to be really tired b/c none of us slept enough this weekend and we need a weekend to recover from the weekend...

*Focus on the Family*
Note this will be a reoccurring segment every Monday.
Ben (fifth from the left on the back row counting the coach) is an amazing sixteen-year-old upcoming junior who attends Ravenwood High School. This summer has been an amazing and life changing for Ben. He has traveled to many exciting places and remained steadfast to his recovering and pursuit of his baseball goals. This week is another step in the pursuit to play during college. Ben and his friend Austin arrived at the University of Kentucky baseball camp yesterday. This is very exciting b/c Ben will be able to stay in a dorm and live some of college life! Let's all hope and pray he will do his best and still become a rebel like it is in his heart and soul to do! Hotty Toddy!

Ben will be travelling to Europe with our amazing uncle, Ray Kemper and our talented and newly graduated cousin Carly. I can only imagine the stories and weight they will bring back with them after weeks in Europe under the guidance and wisdom that is Ray Kemper.

*Weekend Recap*
I won't go into much detail about the nights b/c you can check earlier blogs (as if you haven't read them already! Ha) However Sunday proved to be a challenging but in the end we made it an enjoyable day. So it appears that because of reasons beyond our control, the moving process was expedited and Rebecca and I spent a lot of the day huffing and puffing with all of her belongings to the new apartment. After the move, we relaxed in the apartment that contains furniture and pleasantly resembles a summer beach house. We chilled with a great drink of coconut rum! Don't tell anyone! So for the next two weeks I will be living by myself and it is so weird coming out of my room and seeing a vacant apartment and nothing in Rebecca's room. I was thinking about how funny it must look, however this may be an upcoming reality when I move to a bigger city with no money!!!

After that I went over to the apartment with furniture again and watched celebreality on VH1 with Rebecca, Gordon, and Tangy. This was fun but I have to say I was still stressed that Gordon had not finished his thesis that is due tomorrow and he was watching sub par reality programs. I know that Hulk Hogan is an American icon, and I don't want to offend anyone by criticizing his parenting skills, but I was very unimpressed by the way he blatantly treated his daughter Brooke (pictured) and his son, Nick so differently. In the last episode, Brooke wanted to go on a date w/ an older college boy and Hulk installed a tracking devise so he could follow them. Nick is two years younger than Brooke and is able to drive (he's only 14) and see his girlfriend Ashley all the time. Quote from Hulk to Brooke,"you know why you and your brother are treated differently, you can have a baby and he can't". Honestly not the best message to send to the age demographic that probably watches this show. It’s not bad enough to totally taint the Sunday night special of Celebreatlity, but it did leave a nasty taste in my mouth... yuck

Two Thumbs way up

Last night we cast our sails in the California love boat to the big metropolis of Tupelo. Our destination, a little up the road was dinner and a movie with 4 amazing girls: Rebecca, Ally, Shannon, and me, Natalie, "the girl in the mural". With a crazy group like this you had to know an amazing and quirky night was in store.

*Our first stop on the extravaganza was O'Charleys. If you've ever wondered, who the huge mural of the blonde girl was as you enter O'Charleys, we are here to put your questions aside. After consulting three employees and getting no sufficient answer, we decided that me; Natalie resembled the most the girl in the mural. At first this was offensive b/c Shannon had earlier stated that they should have picked someone more attractive to display in the mural's prime location. Then I realized she was moderately attractive (i.e. probably not cut from all houses first round of rush) and I didn't look exactly like her. Just maybe a cousin and you were drunkenly squinting across the room. I also realized this could catapult my singing career and I should take any kind of publicity offered. So... we told people it was me and it got Rebecca and Ally free drinks. Dr. Pepper.. diet for Rebecca. The meal was a success: Everyone said the bread was amazing.. I think Ally ate the most of them but then again who is counting... I had one bite.. I cheated a little but I think it was an amazing display of self control. Rebecca had a gourmet black and bleu salad: only down fall was she was unaware that it had bacon: "I'm not a bacon girl" R. Bert. Shannon enjoyed a lovely bed of pasta with seafood. The colors of the seafood really made the dish aesthetically pleasing. Ally had a house salad with ranch dressing then a french dip sandwich. She needed more sauce... finally I had the only low carb option, buffalo wings. Not breaded! They were enjoyable, but it is hard to eat them in front of people w/o getting messy. If I were on a real date, I would not have ordered them...oh I also got extra celery!
*On to the movie*

If you only get one chance to see a summer movie, hands down, Wedding Crashers should be it! FYI Barnes Crossing does not take credit cards Ally... The movie started kind of questionable b/c of the rank smell coming from the less than mediocre upkeep of the theatre. However once we all got used to the musk, the movie was more enjoyable. It started a montage of weddings that Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn crashed. I don't think any of us have laughed that hard in a long time. Hey boys, you will like the frontal nudity of many of the bride's maids, but it is not enough boobs to discourage your parents (maybe not your grandparents, especially the one's with the heart conditions) from going to see it.

Owen Wilson was a total hottie in this movie.. wowza! Rebecca notes, "he is a Texan" in typical elitist style...

Vince Vaughn's character was a little insane but hilarious, his antics really made the movie. One should really see this movies several times, who knew Vince could talk so quickly. As one joke occurred, laughter began and some jokes were never even heard....
*Girl's reaction to the movie*
All the girls in the theater and the ones on this particular outing loved Wedding Crashers. Former DM editor Laura Houston saw the movie and also enjoyed it. I think that's all we need to say...
THE LAUGHTER
Oh Rebecca... Rebecca has many different laughs, some whole hearted some kinda yelpish and on occasion a snort may come out. Last night all were in play. While Rebecca was gasping for air, she over heard the teenyboppers behind commenting not only on the movie, but her array of laughs. "When is she gonna snort again?" said teenybopper no. 1. Because of the comments on her laughter, Rebecca kept laughing even during the rare serious moment of the movie.
All in all the movie was a must see and luckily Christopher Walken was not too scary! Ps. Dr. Quinn has an amazing rack.. You’ll see!
The only confusing aspect of last night was the "present" I think left my our neighbor's secret dog outside of our front door... not cool whoever left it.. not cool

Moving on to another summer sensation: Laguna Beach season two premiers on the 25th. It should be amazing. I should warn you NOT to watch it though b/c our last 3-6 Mafia summer series party will be on the 26th at 9:30pm. All should be receiving a facebook invitation soon!

The separation began prematurely last night and will continue today... I am not happy about this at all. The 3-6 Mafia has been an amazing time and I was not really to let go of it this soon. The divorce I’ve got to say was somewhat ugly. R.bert has started moving her stuff but don't worry we still im each other...

Last night in a drunken stupor, Travis Llwellyn drunk dialed me and asked repeatedly if I thought he had cute butt. I told him I would blog about it and ask people to comment on his butt. Here you go Travis this one's for you!

*Last night in O-town was one not to be missed... a very nice MSU graduate (Adam Telle, Mr. MSU/ former SA President) graced Oxford and we had a presidential outing... I would like to point out that I am president of ACDA.. almost as big of a deal as ASB president w/o all the glamour!
*Obviously being ASB president did not leave much social time for Gordo as he was very excited about seeing people he knew on the square and yelled no screamed violently at all of them from the balcony, one almost caused a huge alletercation...
*We should have known this avoided bloodshed was forshadowing of the night's BIGGEST DRAMA! The one and only Samuel L.. that's right Mr. Cool himself was here in Oxford...The football team usually receives all of the attention, however Samuel L seemed to be stealing the lime light and the boys were not happy about this.. they started a huge fight... I'm just glad no one was hurt! Rebecca tried to break it up, being that she is ASB president and must serve the students at all times.. even when this means keeping the peace....
* I never knew how amazing a voice Gordon Fellows has.. it is like an angel... angel of music if you will... he knows so many musicals, I am so amazed.. I felt like I was hanging out w/ my music friends.. or really Josh Groban... b/c ya know we hang out! But no, this jack of all trades Gordon Fellows has an amazing one note range that I was just blown away with! I really think Gordon needs to join Phi Mu Alpha( music frat don't knock it I have been the sweet heart for 2 years.. maybe not a twin like SN has but its the best we could do)
*Today was move out day... didn't really know it was going to be.. but it is...
*Weekend Forcast*
*Tonight will be my second night off in Oxford...I think I am gonna live it up loca style....
In Alabama news: Amy Waycaster had to tell a woman at Food World pharmacy that she could not take a tatoo as a form of identification...I have never heard of things happening like this in TN, maybe its an Alabama thing....

The virgin

I can't believe I am actually doing this... I was doing some facebook stalking to some people and stumbled upon this thing called a blog. I could not believe how many people were on this thing and immediantly imed my roommate and little sis Rebecca Bertrand to tell her how big of a waste of time this was! Even worse than the facebook! But an hour later I am posting "the virgin" post and trying to create a profile... hmmm maybe this is why I am gracing Ole Miss with a fifth year....

*Ben is going to Europe in about a week...
*I work in a sweat shop and have my first 2 days off I've had in weeks this Sat and Sun so if anyone sees me out really enjoying myself... you know why
*I only have 2 more weeks of living w/ Rebecca until I have to move into the new house.. sad day:(
*I hear Whitney Gentry is moving back to Oxford.. this is insane and I totally blame Travis b/c he is the only that took her away to begin with.. we could have totally avoided this "apartment swap" if it wasn't for him...
