Weekend update a few days late

This weekend was GREAT w/ the Bottoms being in town. Along w/ that Oxford was graced by Byron Bertrand, the Weedens, and the Waycaster families. It was fabulous!!!!

BEAT BAMA... (Maybe next year)
So the original plan was to find the Bertrand's tent and put the Bottoms and the Waycasters together, however this did not happen. At 9pm the grove was already a sea of tents and the Bertrands did not have their Bertrands- Kingwood, TX sign up yet (typical elitist Texans). So we had to grove right beside the Waycasters who are die hard Bama fans. Normally I do not care really about the game; however I have a deep (sorry Amy) hatred for Bama. My parents grew up UT fans and I have always hated the tide. However, Amy's parents, Pam and Alan and their best friends, Butch and Norma are a select few of the decent and enjoyable Bama fans I had never known there was such a thing as a decent Bama fan, but this weekend the Waycaster tent proved me wrong. I think I am probably not that wrong and they are just an extreme rare exception to my probably perfect rule, but whatever. Back to the game.. oh what a game! At the beginning we saw a flock of birds, and I was sure (along w/ Travis W) that this was the sign that we would win the game. The first quarter started off well. We got a touch down and I thought the game was off to a total win. However, this outcome was changed when we missed 2 field goals and 2 delay of games in a row! Finally Bama beat us w/ a measly field goal in the last 3 seconds of the game... at least it wasn't a total beat down! We stayed in the grove for a while and then came home for a little down time...after such a long day, we all needed a nap.. after that we all went out to Parishes and then came home for a quiet night all alone. The family is back!

FOCUS ON THE FAMILY!!!
This is my brother, Ben, baseball prodigy. He is 16 and coming to Ole Miss as I type to take an official tour!!! If you see him this weekend, please be extremely nice to him!!! Other schools are heavily recruiting him and I just know Ben needs to be in Oxford! Everyone knows we need another kid down in Dixie. In other news, the whole family plus Ben's friend Austin will be in Oxford around 1:30pm. They were able to take a day off from school to go on an official school visit!
We will have an amazing tent w/ the Bertrands and the Waycasters right off the walk of champions. All are invited, unless you deal drugs.. ha :) For Natalie's News this has been Natalie-Corinne.

The Blog is Back

Oh My Gosh Where to Start...so many breaking head lines... I feel so scattered!

I know I know there are not excuses what so ever to justify the serious lack of blogs lately... So much has happened I don't know where to start... I think I will just do some of the biggest stories from the last few months and try to fill you in.

Lee B is finally 21!!!
Thank God our little younging turned 21 on September 11. This birthday turned into an extravaganza! The festivities started on Friday night with a trip to Yocona.. this was incredible... Tiffany, Amanda, Rebecca, Todd, Lee, and myself drove to Yocona around 6pm. We consumed gallons of wine and tried to be classy by acting like it as a wine tasting.. ehhh didn't really work. However we did win the funniest table award! After this we went to the Burgundy room and got everyone on the balcony to sing " you and me go fishing in the dark" together. It was amazing!


Ole Miss football has begun and atleast the grove is still winning! This season has proved to be a "rebuilding year" so far for our rebels! Amy Waycaster and I made a wonderful road trip to Nashville to see the Vandy game. It was fun seeing a lot of my high school friends. We started off the night by strolling into Nashville around 7pm. We had dinner w/ Doug, Jenna and Taylor and then went back and got ready to go out. A big group of us went down town and showed Amy some skanky parts of Nashville. I was so proud! Although I loved going home, I was so upset to lose to Vandy. Being a resident of Nashville for all of my lifeI have struggled with Vandy and even rooted for them.. but I have NEVER wanted to lose to them! I am totally aware that they are the red headed step child of the SEC and to lose to them was a huge blow..Amy Although this season hasn't been too rewarding, I guess you can't win every year and the grove is still the most amazing place on earth. When I die I want Heaven to be the grove filled with carbs. The home game was so much fun even though we lost to Wyoming... well it was really fun except for a couple of minor glitches.. After that game I no longer feel an ounce sorry for hitting Mr. Matt Glass' car during the summer b/c he puked in the stands and on my foot...that's right my foot! Rebecca and I tried to help him get out of the stands and the student section started booing us.. that's right booing and yelling profanities...After we get Matt into the ambulance and then my parents took him home.. he never thanked me. My dad said I could hit his car again and I think I might! After that we got a great drunk dial from my favorite neighbor and your's Travis from the O Show. He had just told someone to f*ck themselves and then puked in their tent. Once again Rebecca and I were off to the rescue for Mr. Llwelyn. He was not at his best considering he could not find sorority row. He came over to my house and proceeded to demonstrate his jazzercise moves my family and all our friends. It was a great first impression! ha! He proceeded to tell my dad how much he loved his beer no less than 5000 times and congratulations to Whitney and Travis.. (don't worry this story is coming later). The last game (homecoming) was a total success! We won and although the weather was not as perfect as the other games, it was a lot of fun! I guess I will start with Friday night. The regular group (Whitney, Travis, Rebecca, Amanda, Jenny, Bird, etc) started the night off swinging at Murffs. We then went to several bars. Our fearless STB Rebecca Bertrand fell down the stairs at the Bugundy room and has the biggest bruise I have ever seen. We bar hopped until we commited to a location at the Grill. After a couple of drinks and much encouragment from Travis W I started singing in the trumpet player's ear. He heard me sing and gave me the microphone...wow! I sang with the 70 year old jazz band like it was my job. Some couples started dancing and the old man had his hand on my butt.. what a great night! After a lot of more drinks we decided it would be great to take pics w/ the pumpkins at St. Peters.. oh yeah where I go to church.. feeling pretty fearless I just plopped down on them w/o thinking of the pain this might cause..yeah well from the huge stems of the pumpkins I too have a huge bruise.. The game was a lot of fun too and we finally won! Take that citadel! After the game and more groving we went back to the Grill. There was the awesome piano player there and we all sang around him like and old English pub. We all competed again to be the most fun table. This time we had more competition, but I think we probably won. This coming up weekend is the Alabama game and I would LOVE TO BEAT BAMA! Sorry Amy!

*****NEWS FLASH******
Whitney and Travis are engaged! OMG is right! The big event occured during the first home game at appx 5:45am. However Travis' accomplices or as he likes to call us "hos" and soon to be mistresses were up at 4:30 getting ready for the big moment! Operation engagement started in total top secret mode. Aimee, Rebecca and Stef picked Jenny and me up at 4:45 and we went to the Observatory. We had to scout out some parking and of course do a little engagement of our own. We found the perfect location across the street and waited for them. We played great spies complete with spy names and a couple of close calls where we had to hit the ground etc. The only problem we had was Aimee yelping when she saw Whit and Travis. She yelled out wildly "They're here" in some language that sounded like a dying dog. Travis had planned a wonderful an thoughtful engagement. FYI Whit and Travis met their freshman year during Astronomy lab at Kennon Observatory. That is why they were there. Their first date was to the first home football game their sophomore year. That is why he waited! He told her that she had to come help putting up tents to lure her to campus so early.. Whit did not want to go b/c she had to work at 6am, but she went anyways. Although we could not hear the words Travis was saying we did not have to. It gave me chills watching them and I was so happy for them! After their moments we all rushed them! It was so wonderful being a part of their big day! Here are some pics! Forgive the appearances, it was before sunset for the love.....After Travis took Whitney to work, he took all of the "ho's" for donuts at Shipleys.... ummm yumm!!!


Well I am way too tired to keep writing... I know that is not much of an update but I have got to get off this thing.. If I spent the time blogging on homework I would have graduated by now..... anyways for Natalie's News this has been Natalie-Corinne.

so this blog I never posted... it is late!

OOC.. that is the only phrase possible to describe this weekend. I have felt like an under class men that has just discovered the square and all of its rewarding night life. I have to warn you this blog will probably be lengthy but much detail is required to give this outrageous weekend the respect it truly deserves!
THURSDAY NITE!
Thursday started like many others, class, working out, Travis Waters living in my house, ya ya.. and we decided we needed a little break for the same ole stuff. So Rebecca, Tiffany, Shannon, Amanda, Alli, Lee and myself decided to go out and "just have a few drinks". Note: Whenever any night starts out with the phrase it should be understood that although the intentions are to only have "a drink" the night always ends with everyone being extremely drunk, Thursday night being no exception. We started the night with prime time seating at the Burgundy room and then gallivanted to Pearl Street Pasta because of the two for one drink special! I now totally support and love bud light beer. Not because of the taste but b/c of the free merchandise it gave out promoting the new blue bottle. "All this free beer stuff, I feel like its Christmas" was a quote from an excited recipient of the free merchandise and I totally agree. We all got T-shirts, beer mugs, glasses, and best of all free beer. Ps. my roommate whitney thought my free T-shirt was a shaker shirt.. I'm here to report that it is not! Anyways, we were having so much fun that I didn't even know we had actually stayed until Pearl Street closed. They basically had to kick us out!
Friday started with a bit of a challenge for me. I went to work out and well honestly sweat a whole lot of alcohol... not so much fun! I went to class and then volunteered at the Katrina shelter. This was very shocking because you see all of the images on tv but seeing people that have lost everything is very mind blowing. After leaving the shelter, I went home and had dinner and then got ready to go to a surprise party for Amanda Miller. On my way there, my car broke down and Lee had to come to my rescue. After the car was towed we decided to just go to the square and hit up the bars! What a great idea! We met up w/ the same posse with the addition of Todd M from Memphis. We hopped around a lot but ended up settling down at the Grill. Here was Matt Glass, the boy I hit this summer w/ my car the first day he moved to Oxford. Thank God he is really nice and forgiving b/c it had the potential to be an awkward situation. Again this night was lots of fun and too many beers were consumed….. this is going to be a great year more later….

HURRICANE KATRINA/ LIGHTS OUT!

Unfortunately due to technical difficulty due to Katrina, I was unable to post breaking news about the intense weather. Hopefully all of you who read my blog for news were able to find some other news venue to receive up to the minute updates since I was out of commission.

*LIGHTS OUT*
Last night Katrina blew threw our tiny town of Oxford. Much of the intense winds were somewhat tamed compared to the mess that went through Biloxi, however the winds were still 30-40mph during times of the night. There is moderate wind damager around Oxford, mostly power lines and trees that are down all over campus. It began to rain off and on around 10 am and then around 4pm it started raining and did not stop. I got back to my house around 4:30 and Whitney and I hunkered down and prepared for the long night. I was kind of joking when I got the candles and flash lights but it sure came in handy! Around 8pm the power went out and it has not come back on...However Whitney and I made the absolute best of the situation... we lit many candles and read cosmos and people... it was actually very romantic. After 3 peoples, 1 glamour and 1 Cosmo, I decided I should try to sleep. This was a hard goal because of the hauling winds and the scared dogs that were not enjoying the weather at the animal shelter only a street over from out house. Finally I went to sleep in our warm house and woke up at 8:30 am to no air and no warm water. Ole Miss Classes were cancelled until 1pm so I was forced to entertain myself with out TV or internet.. This was more than frustrating...Finally at 1 I was actually looking forward to go to Form and Analysis. Later Whitney and I had a free meal at AOII. It is fabulous being alumna’s because we have zero obligations but can eat the sysco food for free:) Tonight was spaghetti and meat balls.. Well of course this meant salad for me! No carbs duh!


Later this week I have to take the praxis. This is so scary because I have not done middle school math in ages. Luckily Jenny has a book so I will be studying a whole lot so I can graduate on time.. Please pray for this! As much as I love everyone I cannot be here another semester... I will shoot myself! Ha! No really.. I will!!!

Happy Birthday Amy Way!

Once again I must apologize for the long delay since the last posting. From school to having a lot of fun I just have not made the time for my devoted readers...One great excuse for not writing is that I went home for 2 amazing weeks. I got to catch up w/ my wonderful BHS buds and get far too many UV rays in Aubrie's pool. We went out way too much and except for having my credit card stolen and wrecking my car, this trip home was amazing:) ha! But again I'm sorry for the lazy news. I will try to make sure this streak of randomness does not continue.

*Weekend Update*
Last night was loco with a Happy Birthday Amy Way fiesta! The night started early at around 8:30 with a small get together of around 20 friends. Although I was very excited to have this fiesta it also produced some stress b/c of all the cleaning and cooking. I didn't feel like I had enough time to prepare but the party continued and I think it was a huge success. The cuisine was a variety of Spanish appetizers or papas! Whitney used her culinary expertise and made an amazing cake! After the pre-party we headed to the square and bar hopped all night. Much alcohol was consumed and Amy even got some free shots at Jubilee from some nicely dressed men. What a perfect night. Today is Amy's real birthday and she will be dining with her parents in Tupelo tonight. Give your girl a birthday shout out!

Back To School....
Yes its fall.. that time of year again when school consumes our lives and we live for the weekend! Class has begun and there are more people on the Ole Miss campus that should ever be allowed. Lee Brunson thinks there should be a huge parking garage to alleviate the parking situation similar to the one found on the SMU campus. Maybe our faithful and fearless ASB president Rebecca Bertrand can work on this problem. This year my classes should be enjoyable and somewhat challenging. Right now classes have a glossy film that hide reality of hard work and little sleep that will actually occur. The beginning of school is filled with good intentions and resolutions. Who knows if anyone will actually fulfill and keep this new goals, but its worth trying... Set those unrealistic goals! Be an over achiever this year and swear off procrastinating! This is your year, take advantage of it! As a fifth year, I think that you will have the rest of your lives to be a real adult with bills and foreign items like that.. this year I am going to focus on school and pretend to not know of that scary time ahead where I will have to work...

TV time
Where to start... if you haven't been watching Laguna I feel sorry for you. It is an amazing show and the conflicts this season have been overwhelming. The parties at the beach house on Monday nights (Tiffany and Rebecca's apt 3-10) have been so hot this year. MTV has really stepped up their reality programming. Real World and My Sweet 16 are also weekly watches of mine. Hooking up is also a good show on ABC. It makes me wonder... if I am 28 and single, would I online date? Would you? Think about it...

Well all I have missed you and hope you will read this even though I have been so inconsistent! If you’re looking for some love from God tomorrow, come to St. Peter’s church at 11. Sad Sick Summer Days

Who gets sick in the summer?
Yes it has been a while once again from my last blog but this time not from exciting moves and great nights out of too much wine on the square. This time it is from the most intense virus I've had in years, maybe in all of my life. I really thought my time in life was probably over and that I would die not ever getting on Broadway or going to Egypt. It all started after cleaning a really nasty bathroom about a week ago...I started feeling pretty sick but just kind of put it off but I was busy with studying for bio and moving into the new house. However the sickness lingered. Yes lingered and slowly worsened every day... sneaky things viruses are. I kept going b/c this weekend could not be missed and then I had a final. But then it hit... Tuesday around 11am I fell back in bed after my bio final (and my last blog) and just laid there. My head pounded, my stomach, back, and neck ached.. I had a huge temperature but of course I was freezing. Under two blankets I was paralyzed under pain to my bed. I only got up to use the bathroom, 10 very painful and taxing steps away. After 5 hours of laying in misery I got some pills from my new neighbor Travis (pictured in the earlier blog) and from the encouragement of my family, I went to the doctor. I was scared stiff when they said "MENINGTIS" and "WEST NILE" are going around, and you have many of the symptoms: WHAT???? After many questions the doctor ruled out many scary diseases and asked if I had been anywhere dirty lately? "Well yes I have". I got some drugs(one of them was lortab which know I now are so hard core and very popular on the drug scene. I have some left maybe I should become a dealer!) and went home. God bless Whitney Gentry for driving me to the doctor and the pharmacy and thanks to Rebecca for stopping and bringing me fluids! It has been a real hard week but at least I lost 5lbs! ha!

FOCUS ON THE FAMILY:
BEN, RAY, CARLY ARE HOME! I am in the dirty dirty (Atlanta, Georgia) tonight ending the night of celebrating the arrival home of Ray and the Rayettes. They had a wonderful time, however they are suffering from severe jet lag.. yeah insert sympathy here. oh wait they just spent 15 amazing life changing days in Europe..They had a wonderful time. Pete, Michelle and I left Nashville this morning only 38 minutes behind schedule.. not bad for the Bottoms. We arrived in Atlanta around 2pm (eastern time) and had to leave to meet Ray and the Rayettes. Actually mom stayed at Ray's to decorate for Ray's annual 29th birthday and Pete and I went to the airport. We could have been even later leaving Nashville b/c we waited for an hour. The end of the trip could not have come at a more perfect time. They had the times of their lives, but I had a feeling that Ben and Carly and become much like brother and sister rather than cousins. The "harmless" picking at each other could have esclated to an intense high if they stayed much longer :) ha! Much to my surprise, Ben arrives with a HUGE new accessory of "bling". Very different for his style to say the absolute least. Later I hear that during the last night of their European festivities in Milan much alcohol was consumed and Ben was foolishly secured into purchasing not one but two awful necklaces. "We are all shocked" is the statement the Bottoms family is realizing at the current time. After the short party at Ray's house we all got ready and went to a Cuban restaurant. Atlanta has some of the best and most diverse culinary experiences in the entire United States. The atmosphere was very alive and exciting and the band added even more charisma to the night. Everyone enjoyed their Cuban dish, but it was an early night home because of the jet lag that was barring down on the Rayettes. We will be departing early in the morning after a light brunch. Overall it has been a very enjoyable trip and I wish we could have stayed longer!!

Later this week I hope to find another job. I am so over the sweat shop, if anyone knows of any openings PLEASE let ya girl know:)

The summer is coming to a sad end, I feel like none of us have relaxed enough to start the grind of school again. Take these last few weeks and have an extra drink and an extra nap.. you know you'll desperately need them in about a month.. When that pointless paper is due or when finals come around, you’ll want drinks and a nap… better store up now!! For Natalie's news this has been Natalie-Corinne reporting live from Atlanta Georgia.

since you've been gone...

Yeah so its been a while...Sorry for the huge delay but I have been very busy b/c of the extremely stressful moving process.. yikes! After some challenging days I am finally settled in my new house at Turtle Creek. (behind the Billiards club and yes you can hear the bass constantly... its GREAT) Anyways I am getting used to the new house and we are still trying to get everything situated. In a last minute move I got two new great roommates: Jenny Weeden of Ingamar and Whitney Gentry of Tupelo. Well Whit's not so new to be but she is back in Oxford.. thank God more on that story later. Here is a picture of me and my new roommates and some of our good friends! It will be a crazy year! The move in days were pretty demanding. My mom came down for two days and has never worked so hard in her life! Later in the weekend Whitney's parents and Travis Waters also joined in on the game and helped turtle creek become a huge success. I already miss the 3-6 I have to say but I think turtle creek is becoming home sweet home! PS to Travis. I think you may have taken over Laura-Catherine's job as head stalker. Within minutes of my few statements of an anonymous boy I had a crush on he had contacted all of his people for information. Of course he doesn't like him, but that's okay. I like to think of Travis as not only Whitney's boyfriend, but an over protective brother that I never had.





OH! I almost forgot! We have hot new neighbors... Here is a picture of them when they were vacationing on the Rosie O'donnell cruise that started in Miami last year! The four boys are taking some extra business classes in order to open a new salon in Oxford! (get excited ladies) They just don't think that there is a quality place in town and hope to model the establishment after Jonathan's salon on the E channel reality show. The one of the far right is Travis Llwellyn of News Watch 12. The other boys I have not met but they are having a martini party later in the week w/ great finger foods so I KNOW that we will become great friends!


ON TO WHITNEY GENTRY:
Whitney Gentry moved back to Oxford and we her friends could not be happier. "I'm so glad you are back in Mississippi" was a good bye quote from her sweet dad Johnny as they departed after the big and hopefully final move. Whitney started her new job at Aramark yesterday and she thinks she is going to really enjoy the experience, not to mention all the bonuses. She gets free food all over campus, her own desk, and let us not forget the huge pay increase...she is over all baked goods and the newly began wedding cakes division of aramark w/ the university. We can all expect great things from her job and her personal life....

On to academic news:
Summer school is over and my bio days are over...I was EXTREMELY embarassed today though when my teacher states in front of the entire class," Natalie you got a 96.5, the highest grade in the class on the DNA test but you failed the reproduction test.. you must need more experience and teachings in this subject, how are you going to teach your children about the birds and the bees?" Mr. Smith. I have never been more embarrassed and I could feel my face turning bright red. Sure I didn't know what a vulva was or about the crazy minora words but honestly.. no reason to yell it across the roof tops... oh well at least its over and I'm looking at this situation positively b/c knowing too little makes me a little embarrassed but knowing too much might have produced a child by this point...

Okay I think this blog is getting OOC long but I have to give a last shot out to my favorite ape. Ape man is so progressive and totally blog worthy.. ha! PS ape man, Rebecca and I have become addicted to many shows and last night after realizing that our life and that little thing called school would soon get in the way of many of our regularly scheduled programming, so we need you to get your tivo hooked back up pronto! Thanks...

MOVING ON UP!

Today has finally come.. its moving day out of my first and amazing apartment.. I have had so much fun and wonderful times at the 3-6 mafia.. but alas it is time to say goodbye and move on to new experiences across town. My mom is "thrilled" that I am moving a mile away! Moving is always such an amazing experience, I wish we could all do it more often! Rebecca has been nice enough to offer to help the bigger stuff.. any more takers? I seriously need a truck so holla at ya girl

FOCUS ON THE FAMILY AGAIN
We are all so proud of my daddy Pete!!! For the last couple of years he has become a serious beer connoisseur. He just competed in the American Home Brewer's competition in Florida! This contest was very intense with hundreds of entries. Pete finished second beating out some very well respected brewers! To say the least it was a huge upset for some of those returning beer veterans! His next contest is in West Virginia where we hope to take it all!! After that he will be facing his arch nemesis in a battle show down in Nashville. Last year Pete beat this snobby beer lady at the contest. Not know who Pete was the snobby lady came up to him and started trashing my daddy! Well, you know what that means... it is on woman! She will go down! Hopefully we can get some shots of the action! These competitions are very secretive but I think I can work on it...

AND NOW WHAT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR
NATALIE'S LAGUNA: BACK TO THE BEACH REVIEW FOR SEASON II The Laguna party was delayed for our posse b/c of the busy schedule we all carry. Rebecca was nice enough to tape and ended up hosting the event. I know it was supposed to be the last 3-6 party, and in a way it was but 3-10 had beach furniture too so it was a great environment. The event started w/ great company and great snacks. Ally who was very bronzed from her cruise to Mexico, Shannon, Jessica, Nina, Rebecca, Lee, and I were the hot people who attended... we started watching the pre-game at apx 10:30. This was helpful b/c some of the party -goers were not faithful watchers of last season. Finally we got to the premier. When that familiar "let the rain fall down" started playing I just knew we were in for a great hour of quality television and boy was I correct. There was so much drama and so many new faces it was hard to keep everything together. Some of the main plots are still playing out like Steven liking Kristin and LC following Steven around like a puppy dog. But now all the kids are back from college and there is a new and mature vibe.. well kind of! We watched in awe and since it was taped we didn't have to watch the commercials... what could be better? I thought the night was a success and cannot wait for next Monday when we have our next party. We are going to start rotating places so if you want to get in on the action, let me know...

The kids left on Friday and their luggage did not follow them. It was first left in Atlanta and then left in another hotel. Ben is not having too much trouble b/c he can wear Ray's clothes, however Carly height apx 5'2 is having trouble coping with the 6'0+ boys she is traveling with. I am sad and will probably shed a tear...Come at 9:30 w/ beach wear and we will probably go out after...Can't get too crazy though b/c my momma will be coming in to Otown very early on Wed to start the moving process.... to the left will be my attitude...

WEEKEND UPDATE II

Wow this weekend was one not to be missed! The nights were filled with great and exciting company and except for the severe lack of sleep and few too many drinks each night it could not have been more enjoyable!

FRIDAY NIGHT SHOW DOWN:
Friday night started for me w/ a quick shift at the sweatshop. I then picked up a fellow sweatshop worker, Lee and we went to Old Venice with Rebecca, her two great friends from home: Molly and Anna, the famous Grant Gannon, and Travis. Dinner was great and then we went to the Levee. We joined a lot of other friends at the Levee. It is not my favorite bar in the least but we made it fun chilling on the old stage with Shannon,Jessica, Ben Bevil, and John.

After the bar we decided to make a trip to Holly Springs and visit our friend Paul at Grace Land Too. whoa..Please read this section carefully.. if there are small children this might be a good time to remove them from the room. We had no idea what was really in store. We arrive around 1am. Paul comes to the door and we start the tour as normal. He has updated some of his stories and his house is surprisingly clean.. well for Graceland Too. Half way through the tour, John was having some trouble paying attention because of the amazing amount of alcohol he had consumed! He left to go outside and Paul decided to lock him out and not let him back in. John wanted to come back in because he felt that Holly Springs was not the greatest area to be outside hanging out. John begins banging on the door and Paul ignores him b/c he is so focused on the tour. John continues to bang and we suddenly hear a crash...the window has shattered. Paul is not happy.. he begins saying how he has $100,000 in guns and pulls out a small hand gun. WAIT WHAT JUST HAPPENED? Being the little hippie child I am, I freaked out and quickly bolted for the door with all of our friends. Paul tried to get our information and Lee quickly responded with a great alias "John Jones" and gave some altered insurance information. Unfortunately, our tour was cut very short and my opinion that Paul is a harmless crazy man has changed... he is not harmless he certifiable and carries a gun in his pocket.. stay away! PS I would like to give props to Whitney for always having the knowledge of Paul. She has never been a fan and we should have listened to this smart girl. She is from Tupelo the birth place of Elvis. That is something Paul can never say....


Coming home around 3:30 made my day at security check very difficult! 8 o'clock comes very early!

SATURDAY!!!
After working all day Rebecca informs me that we are going to Taylor Grocery in Taylor, MS. The same crew minus Jessica made the trip to Taylor. It was a very muggy night but the company and dining made it completely worth it. Dinner was great. Most of us got the 1/2 filet plate or some variation of that. We were entertained by the great music and the many stories from John. After leaving Taylor we came back to Otown and hung out at Ben's house for a while. Then some people wimped out (you know who you are) and Lee, Travis, and I went out on the square. We went to 208 and just chilled for a while. This was a great place to go b/c Lee could get in and Travis happened to know the bar tender.
After we left the bar we decided to be wedding crashers (I guess I was influenced by the movie.. damn media) and went to a reception on the square. This was probably not the best move and our presence did not last long. I saw a sorority sister Jessica and I thought we were in for free food and drinks. However I did not notice that Travis and Lee were stopped by a drunk friend and were quizzed about their place at the wedding. They were asked who they knew and Lee quickly responded we're w/ the groom! The drunk man asked," well what's his name?" Lee says,"Mark" which is wrong. The drunk friend is not happy and Travis bolts but Lee has to be the mocho man and try to talk to this friend. I decide this is not a good move and we leave the wedding.. Obviously we did not take enough lessons from the movie! After that we took a trip to Toxic Hell (taco bell) and got some late night food..

Once again today was very hard at work... I am finally going to get some sleep but I thought I would leave you with a picture of all of my friends from this weekend... enjoy! Some of Rebecca's friends are coming in from Texas and I along w/ everyone else in our posse is excited to show them a great time in Oxvegas! Our plans are to go to the little kids bars b/c some of our visitors are not 21. That is okay, it will be like a blast from the past sort of weekend.. Complete with a trip to graceland too.



This weekend is also the time for traveling.. it seems everyone is going somewhere:

*Ben, Carly, and Ray will be in Europe for a couple of weeks. They fly out today and arrive in Munich tomorrow :)
*Ally left for Mexico today on her family vacation cruise! With a crazy girl like Ally and an equally eclectic family, who knows what will happen.
*Amy, Pam, and Alan Waycaster are going to Tuscaloosa tonight to go to a party with her family friends. It should be a great time!
*April Lancaster went to Alaska for an opera workshop.
*Ann Marie Hall went to Paris for an English class to study American writers in Paris.
*Travis L and Ben just got back from Tunica last night. But we all know these addicts will probably be back.
*As I stated earlier we are going to Graceland too tonight in Holly Spring, Mississippi.

For those of you who have been reading my blogs you know that I work at a sweatshop where I contact people who are usually less than pleased to hear from me. Since my beginning at Security Check (aka the sweatshop) I have been taking an unscientific polls and the worst states to call are: In the south: Alabama, in the north: Michigan and in the west: California. Below I have composed a list of insults/ threats/ excuses/ etc that hopefully will make you laugh.. just remember this is my job not a joke :)

8. "Mam, I just can't pay this check" (to a liquor store) I can't even pay my rent" pitiful lady.. then several minutes later,"are you sure I have an outstanding check there? I was in there tonight" (now not so pitful lady) "You bought more liquor? I thought you couldn't pay your rent" Nat
7. "Mam I'm sorry I can't pay this, I'm an 85 year old widow" (lady) Oh am I talking to the right person? We have that you were born in 1972 (Nat)"Smart A$$" (lady)
6. "Can I speak to Sam?" Nat "This is he" Sam "hey Sam this is Natalie w/ security check" (I am interrupted by)" oh umm I'm sorry I'm not here right now, leave a message... " Sam Sam I know this is not the machine, you just told me this was you." Nat
5. "The checks were stolen" / I never opened this account/ many different arrangements of this same excuse.
4. "Hey can I speak to Pamela" Nat "Yeah this is she" (Pam) hey Pamela this is Natalie w/ security check, "Oh oh this isn't Pamela this is uhh uhh Kamela, her sister, Pamela died, don't call back" lying woman
3."My lawyer said it was illegal for you to call me" mean man "okay, ask you lawyer about writing bad checks? Is that legal?" Nat
2. "I just love your southern accent, do you think I could come down there and maybe take out?" (man from Minnesota who had no business asking me out since he had no money in his checking account... oh yeah and he had never seen me! maybe bill collecting calls will become the hottest new trend in dating)
AND THE NUMBER ONE PHONE CALL IS...
1. "okay you owe $356.21." Nat " You have no soul young lady this is followed by about 2 minutes of lots of cussing and yelling.. finally I get sick of it. " Mam mam, I have good news, please stop yelling.. you can save 15% on car insurance by calling Geiko today" Nat

In other news:
My good friend and your's, Rebecca Bertrand is not having that great of a day.. Please if you see Rebecca give her a hug and some respect! She's a great hard working gal that needs a little pick me up! Give her some love! Hopefully she will feel better by hooking up tonight! (the show kids... but you never know w/ that sexy R.Bert).

Hot off the press, this story will blow your mind! Aimee Bertrand has a real life stalker! Please don't be too alarmed, Natalie's news has contacted the alleged stalker and all of the personal contacts have seemed to be harmless...so we hope
The first contact occurred a few weeks ago in a scary and dramatic car chase. Aimee noticed that someone was flagging her car down. She first wondered if something was wrong with her car, looking and observing no obvious problems, she kept driving. The man was relentless... honking and flagging! This alarmed Aimee, she kept thinking," what could he want? Is this some kind of attack because of who I work for? Is this an out of control parent of a child that I used to be a glorified baby-sitter for? What is going on?" Finally, after the man would just not stop, Aimme would make her first mistake, she stopped. The robust and older man stepped up to her car. A million thoughts ran through Aimee's head, she rolled down her window and the man responds with a friendly, "Hotty Toddy!" He had seen Aimee's UM alumni sticker and flagged her down b/c he was also an Ole Miss alum! Aimee learned that the man's name is Larry Holt and that he played football here several decades ago. Second mistake, Aimee gave Holt a business card so they could possibly see each other in the grove. Weeks pass and Aimee resumes her normal life. She doesn't hear from Holt and forgets about the strange meeting. Then during another normal at work, she gets a mysterious phone call. Aimee had told Holt that she was fond of his chrome rebel on his bumper. Holt contacted Aimee at work and had purchased Aimme her own chrome rebel. Imagine the impact and influence Aimee must have made on Holt. They met for approximately 3 minutes and he was already shopping for her. Holt wanted Aimee to come to his house and pick up the chrome rebel. This would be mistake number three. It was on his turf and his rules.. Aimee anxiously drove to Holt's house thinking of the many ways she could escape if the situation arose. "I could use my keys and my stilettos a weapon" (Aimee), however these precautions were not used. Holt had bought Aimee the chrome rebel. It is a great addition to her Honda. What we have learned about Holt is that he is not so much of a scary stalker but a mooch or a "scrub" if you remember the popular destiny's child track. Holt now wants to join the Bertrand camp at the grove! This story is far from over! I am sure some stories will arise after the first football game that Holt attends! I can only imagine Byron and Ginger's response..(note Byron and Ginger are Aimee's parents).



The Real World Austin officially sucks:
Last night I had a date at the apt with furniture with Rebecca and Ally. We watched more reality programming: Real World and that 70's House. The Real World sucks this season, I'm just going to say it... maybe everything isn't always bigger in Texas.. OooOo


I'll get comments over that one! The 70's house is actually surprisingly funny for an extremely low budget and pointless show...
